Margi - is a kind from cat's family, living in Latin America. The length of its body is about 60cm, not including a 40-centimetric tail. The weight fluctuates from 4 to 8 kg. In general the cat looks as a smaller copy of related to it ocelote. It has a yellowy-brown wool with dark ring-alike stains. The big expressive eyes of Margi are perfectly in harmony with the colourful woollen 'dress' of this cat. Their long tail serves this animal as a balance weight at movement on branches, after all Margai spends a lot of time on trees. The weight of this charming animal varies approximately from 2 to 5 kg.
This cat conducts a semiwood way of life and is active basically at night. It perfectly swarms up trees and can jump from a branch on a branch as a squirrel. Even from completely vertical trunk Margai goes down a head downwards. Life expectancy of the cat is about 18th years in general. Margi lives mainly in warm, dense woods; neither colds, nor light forests this temperamental, prompt animal loves. Time after time it gets on plantations of cocoa or coffee.

The creature conducts a single way of life. Usually the food appears in small mammals also living on trees; birds, wood lizards, frogs and even insects; sometimes the cat finishes with small monkeys. In some areas of the South America people take Margais instead of a house cat.
Last years because of cutting down of tropical woods the livestock of Margais siderably reduced. Besides, poachers quite often kill him for the sake of beautiful, dense and soft fur.
Now these wonderful longtailed cats, as well as many other cat's familys with beautiful wool, are threatened with extinction.
